Waiting on the Hyperloop
The Hyperloop: Elon Musk's answer for the future of transportation using pressured tubes for high-speed travel. Their resource model described in this Wired.com article is a dispersed team of engineers, freelancing their spare time in exchange for equity. A great example of open innovation in action.
I've always been envious of the expansive rail system in European countries. It makes hours of travel painless and in many cases down right enjoyable. No bag checks, no seatbelt restrictions and the countryside views make train travel an ideal experience, especially when comparing the alternatives. Since the testing ground for the Hyperloop will be Slovakia it looks like I'll have to continue waiting ... or start planning a trip.
