Shocking, Another Project

I love travel, and I'm thrilled to say that I've taken my passion to the next level by becoming a Fora Travel Advisor.

I don’t really like the term side hustle. It brings to mind MLM pitches and pushing products on your friends and friends of friends that they don’t really want or need. I dread getting messages from long-lost high school classmates that begin with “Hey, girl!” I’m much harder for these women to find since leaving Facebook.

Let’s start with I’m not recruiting you for anything and this is not a career change for me.

What I have been thinking about is how to continue sharing travel knowledge and experiences in a scaleable way. I don’t have an interest in a public blog or sharing a bunch on social media past my connections. But planning and putting together itineraries is almost as fun as an actual trip as far as I’m concerned. This new travel advising project works well to continue working down my destination list and collecting new travel ideas. Minimally I get to book my own travel through Fora, bonus if any friends and family would like my help.

What does this mean…

As a Fora Travel Advisor, I can book you at the best hotels around the world with upgrades, perks, resort credit, free breakfast & more. You pay the same amount, but with VIP perks, personalized travel recommendations from me, and insider knowledge from the network of Fora advisors.

Do you have to plan a luxury trip to use an advisor? Nope. There are plenty of hotel options at reasonable prices. You can read more about some of the Fora partners in hotels, cruises, and experiences.

Book a Trip with Me

Email me for help planning your next trip – whether that’s a staycation locally or your summer getaway. I have a fancy new advising email address: liz.schmittgens@fora.travel

Even if you've already booked your hotel somewhere, I can probably still add perks to your stay. If you booked directly through a hotel's website, just forward me the confirmation and I will contact the hotel directly to see which Fora Perks I can add to your reservation by adding my agency ID.

Some potential perks I could add include:

  • $100 food / beverage credit

  • Free Breakfast daily

  • Upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

The best part is there is no cost to you. I am just getting started with the extensive Fora training material, but I would love some early guinea pigs to help me practice. What’s in it for me? Hotels pay advisors directly and I get to help you have the best trip possible.

Another Project You Say?

Look, I’m an enneagram 7. I thrive on having multiple projects both personal and professional. Plus, this isn’t the first time I’ve taken a hobby and made a pseudo-professional investment. In 2017, when I started my yoga teacher training, it was an excellent way for me to deepen my yoga practice and make it a priority. I was able to learn about the science and history of yoga, explore different styles and teachings, and share what I learn with others. Since then, I have floated in and out of teaching classes, but on the whole, becoming a certified yoga instructor transformed my relationship with a hobby and gave it a permanent foothold in my lifestyle. I hope to do the same with travel. After this year, I want to continue making travel a consistent part of life for me and my family. Learning about new destinations, searching different cities, countries, and cultures, and growing my travel bucket list to a more diverse and interesting set of experiences for a lifetime.
